Alibaba's Singles Day e-commerce extravaganza has lessons for Amazon

Chinese company uses games and livestreams to attract record revenue.


I wrote an opinion anaylsis for Nikkei Asian Review on the success of Alibaba, the world's largest e-commerce company, in engineering a shopping festival. Partly based on my experience as a shopaholic, I compared Alibaba's Singles Day sale with Amazon's Prime Day and identified the significant differences.
